Do I need to know how to value a company?
Not necessarily. We calculate intrinsic value and the supporting ratios for every stock we track. We do however think it is beneficial for everyone to know the fundamentals so that they can make more informed decisions on their own – after all we only supply the data, and don’t give any advice on a stock!

What does a subscription cost?
The Value Companion is a $20 per month paid subscription with full access to the screener, portfolio tracking, daily notifications and the MCP tool. There’s a free stock report if you’d rather look before you commit.
What is the MCP tool, exactly?
MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside services. Our MCP tool gives your assistant read and write access to your account: it can list the stocks meeting your criteria, tell you what your criteria are, pull details on a specific stock, and add or remove stocks from the portfolio you track. It’s included with every subscription.
Does the portfolio track what I actually own?
No – it tracks what you’re watching on The Value Companion. Add anything you want to keep an eye on: positions you hold or candidates you’re still researching — and we’ll keep the fundamentals in one place. We aren’t a trading platform, so we’ll never ask for brokerage credentials.
How current is the data?
All data is pulled and refreshed on a daily cycle, and your saved criteria are re-run against them every day to keep everything up to date.
Is it easy to cancel?
Yes, you can cancel your account at any time from your account settings with no need to go through our support.
